How does one find God? Where is He? When you find Him, how do you know? Maybe it’s just your imagination. I mean, do you just follow a bunch of do’s and don’ts that someone might have made up, or is He someone real and tangible. Can you sense His presence? Does He make Himself known in Who He is and what He does for us? How can we really know that He is not just a figment of our imagination? FINDING GOD!
How does a finite individual find an infinite God? Where do we look? By the time we even begin to desire to look for Him, it is He who has already placed that desire in our hearts. He begins to tug on our hearts, sometimes with the thought, “There has to be more to this life than this.” and instantly our ears are open for more. But how do we find Him? There are so many religions touting that what they believe is the truth, but it can’t be so, because they oppose one another. It seems like an impossible journey, but it’s easier than one might think.
God wants to be found. He loves His creation and He loves His people. He walks with us every day, just hoping we might want to talk to Him and ask Him what’s on His mind. What would He like to share with us? All of creation shows that He exists 24/7. The heavens declare His Majesty. The birds sing His praise. Yet, He longs to reveal Himself to us personally. Scripture says that if we search for Him with our whole heart, we will find Him. If we really desire to know Him more than anything else, including our own limited wisdom and understanding, He will show us the truth. How do I know? I have found Him and I know others who have also. He is more real than the people who stand next to us. We know Him and you can too.
